Skate News from Bedford County
There’s a story today in the Lynchburg paper about Bedford County installing a public skatepark, bigger than Lynchburg’s. This is good news since it shows how more communities are embracing the idea that skateparks promote healthy activity. Also, it was impressive how much money they raised in Bedford. But if Bedford can do it, so can Nelson.
well this makes everything more realistic.
also, I was thinking of asking some of the resources guys at wintergreen if we could use some of their ramps, that they carelessly tossed in the woods. or at least buy them at reduced prices or something.
I agree with Colin – this does make things seem more realistic. We should see if we can make a road trip and get some ideas from others that have been successful at this endeavor.
haha, lisa is also a GENIUS
i agree with colin also it wouldnt hurt to ask wintergreen about teh ramps…..and if ur considering it they sell skate benches and flat rails fairly cheap in ccs magazine…..or you could possibly look into ebay for cheaper ones.
Ask Wintergreen, order from ccs….Yeah right lets’s think more permanent. LET’S HOLD A BAKE SALE…..! no, but really…we want a REAL skatepark not some backyard setup…WE need to talk to some people!
Im really interested in doin the artwork around the park, not saying im not gonna start skating,(which by the way i suck guys)but i can really help do some art work.
Hey guys it’s Elliott; most of you know who I am but for those that don’t, it’s nice to meet you. Anyway, as far as equipment for the park goes, I’m pretty sure that Wintergreen has given or had hauled away all of the leftover ramps. Also, if this is going to be a decent park, we may need to think more along the lines of buying all of our ramps etc. from one major skatepark supplier. There are dozens of them online. Building our own ramps would be cheaper, but it would also require much more time and work and they may not be as durable and well-constructed as pre-assembled ramps.
True, True Mr. Fox!
i agree with elliot it would last longer in the long run and jusdt be palin out better…but the thing is…how u going to get the money to get em
