Latest from RVCC

Margaret Clair, who is a “mover/shaker” at the Rockfish Valley Community Center (RVCC), and I spoke briefly yesterday. She told me she had been forwarded the letter I wrote introducing the skatepark concept to RVCC. She agrees it is a worthwhile project that would fill a need for the teens in Nelson. She has also invited me to attend the next RVCC planning committee meeting to see if I’d like to to join the committee. I will attend. All good news. Still, the RVCC feasibility study will need to take place (April), and we’ll need public support in order to convince all the powers that be at RVCC. We will, in my mind, need to get an official promise(??) from RVCC that a spot will be available for the skatepark before we can really ramp up fundraising. It’ll be easier to solicit funds if we have a tangible model and piece of earth to show people and businesses.

  2. Nice. Still working on getting us some cheap-ish, good quality shirts, but we’re almost there for the Design phase. Next comes the hard part, the money part.

I totally think the possibly new sk8park should be mostly street with a little vert…….just because street is more fly in general. Maybe some stairs, a few banks, and ledges, oh, a nice gap would be pretty fly too.
