The Skatenelson T-shirts are in the making. I talked to Andy Foster who owns Black Cat Skateshop today, and we are getting a silkscreen made so we can print multiple shirts. They will be white and will read “SkateNelson.org” with the logo below it. Or so I hope. Andy suggests making a large first batch, because the more shirts we make, the less each shirt costs. I personally think we should make a first set of 25 shirts. We will get each shirt for about $6, we can sell them for $10. Just throwing it out there. I need help paying for this, and if anyone thinks this is a bad fundraiser please stop me. Quick. — Colin

We might have a problem with using the basketball courts as a site. Now, we have support from most people we’ve come to thus far. However, There is a feasibility study being conducted. The people who are conducting this have plans all laid out, these plans do not include a skatepark. Now we haven’t had a direct conversation with these guys, but Tim emailed one of the ladies who was running it and hasn’t gotten a response. Basically, They’ll be going around and conducting a poll over the phone asking what people would want at the community center. We think that they don’t want anything permanent on the basketball courts, but we’re not sure. Don’t grab your torches and pitchforks yet, there is still a good possiblity that we could get a park in any of the large amounts of unused space. Now, we don’t know exactly when that they will be making this poll, but a nicely placed letter to the editor in the Nelson County Times, could stick the idea of a skatepark in peoples minds just before the questionnaire. But even if we can’t get a good site at RVCC, we may have a lot of other places to choose from. The site is ideal to get before we start funding, because we need to have some concrete evidence that we are going make good use of money, before we start hittin people up. — Colin
